My 4-year-old and 2-year-old hate taking showers. I suspect this is because showers are quicker than baths and there is not as much opportunity for play. They would stay in the bath for hours (and hardly notice the water growing colder) if I would let them. They splash and pretend to be mermaids and water fairies until they are as wrinkled as prunes. Then I force them out to dry off and snuggle on my lap for warmth while they tell me all about the stories they made up.
(The water looks a little murky I know, but that is not because they are extra dirty - there is oatmeal in the bath to help their skin).
